When did you decide you wanted to transition from a food truck to a brick-and-mortar location?
When the pandemic shutdowns hit,
so many of our customers were looking for their Boondoggies fix because our concessions stand was closed, and all of our normal events were cancelled. We transitioned into neighborhoods and some were able to track us down, but we wanted to make our food available to them any time they craved it. We also saw it as an opportunity to expand our menu.
When did you open Boondoggies’ new location?
We officially opened for business on September 3rd, 2021 for Labor Day Weekend!
What do you offer on your store menu that can't be found on the food truck?
The Seattle Dog, with cream cheese, bacon, caramelized onions and peppers. We are also able to offer a more extensive toppings menu, hand squeezed lemonade, soft serve ice cream, root beer floats and milkshakes.
What do you hope for the future of Boondoggies?
We want to provide a fun place for families and hot dog lovers to go, and to fulfill that “Casper Dog Craving” that so many of our residents grew up on living in the Bay Area.
