Allison’s Art Bus

When did you open Allison's Art Bus, and what was your inspiration?

We opened Allison's Art Bus during the summer of 2015. The bus had been a lifelong dream for Allison. Right after she finished her teaching degree, she moved to Texas and saw a gymnastics bus and thought it would be really cool to have a bus where you could do art! Fast forward a few years, and she and I (Lance) had been talking about starting the business when everything suddenly came into place for us. So, we launched the bus!

What services do you offer?

We are a full fine art studio on wheels! We do fine art classes with home schoolers at Willy's Bagels and after school programs with our friends at Marsh Creek Elementary and Brentwood Elementary. We do paint parties for kids and adults (adults get to bring whatever they would like to drink on the bus while they paint). We also do camps during Spring, Summer, and Fall breaks. There are also the Teens and Tweens Art Nights which we started back in 2015 with Mountain Mike's Pizza on Country Club Drive. It's a paint night for kids and Mountain Mike's Pizza throws in a free personal pizza for each painter!

What makes your business unique?

The thing that we like to think makes us unique is our ability to bring art to people no matter where they are. We've had so much fun these past four years getting to know our Brentwood community (and surrounding area). The number one thing we hear on the bus is, "We all heard the same instructions and look at how different each painting or project is." That's art and that's life, and we get to live it every day!

Do you have any plans/changes for the upcoming future?

We'd obviously like to get a few more busses out there, but I think in the immediate future, we're going to be focusing on providing new and challenging projects to all of our new 2019-2020 students!
